Art Spark Event Fair 2012
Thank you everyone who came out to the event, we had another great great time! The eclectic mix of the groups participating was awesome. Thank you, 100th Monkey Studio, IPRC (Independent Publishing Resource Center), Colored Pencils Art and Culture Council, Em Space, Crow Arts Manor and Portland Women's Film Festival for helping bring another great time to the creative community. And the diversity of the crowd was fantastic. The low down, DJ John Henry was awesome! So many compliments on how he provided just the right vibe! Thank you! Then Wordstock's button contest was a big hit. The theme, "if writing were running for president what would be the campaign slogan?" The winner, "a pen is a pen is a pen" by Michael D’Alessandro. See Wordstock's blog for more info. The event was just another smashing success! Thank you to everyone, we couldn't and wouldn't do it without all of your great support! See you in March!
Ahh...we had a fantastic time. The night was stormy but didn't stop us from having another great event! Vie de Boheme was the perfect place, warm and welcoming. The Art Spark crowd is amazing, coming out when they can to meet and connect with other creative minded community. Keith Lachowicz from the RACC's Public Art Department informed us of an open call for the Portable Works Collection and the newest exhibit at the Portland Building Installation Space,. Then our featured group of the evening Create Plenty brought us a fun bingo game to engage dialogue around our sustainable practices and informed us of what they are up to and how we can be involved. They have a goal of making their International Quilt Project as big as the Aids Quilt Project--I love people having grand goals, hey why not shoot for the stars! And then (boy we had a lot going on!) we were so lucky to have the melodic jazz grooves of Ben Darwish -Thank you Ben! Thank you everyone who came out to make new connections, rekindle old ones and find out about another awesome arts related organization in Portland; and just have a good time with others that think being creative is important to our lives! See you next time!

We had a fun PDX Pop Now! triva game to help us get to know them more. We also had two additional fantastic organizations join us, My Voice Music and Portland Radio Authority. And then there was just the fun of hanging out and mingling at a great space, Backspace! We love you all, thanks for bringing the creative community another great Art Spark time. See you soon!

SCRAP and Hand2Mouth (H2M)
Another crazy good Art Spark time! 1st we were lulled into euphoria by the melodic sounds of Hand2Mouth then we were hyped up with the fun antics of SCRAP's mini craft rumble! If you have never been to one... highly recommend! And before all of these festivities, ADX gave us the low-down on who they are and what they are doing, so cool! Thanks everyone for coming out, we had a great night, see you next time!
